Santa Barbara is the smallest of the Channel Islands, but it offers big rewards for divers. Harbor Seals and California Sea Lions congregate at Santa Barbara and definitely make their presence known. Don't be surprised when you are joined on your dive by a playful Harbor Seal.

Divers here can expect to see lobsters in abundance along with rock scallops and the occasional Abalone. Bat Rays up to six feet wide are also a common site here. In the shallows divers will see numerous examples of the California state fish, the Garibaldi. Because this fish is protected, they are in abundance and with their bright orange coloring they stand out in great contrast against blue sea and verdant kelp.
