San Clemente Island is one of Southern California's prime destinations for Kayak Anglers. Productive kelp, secluded coves and numerous boiler rocks make this a must visit destination for anglers in search of Yellowtail, White Sea Bass and all the trophy Calico Bass action they can handle. This fishery is available only by boat but upon arrival kayak anglers truly have nearly unlimited access to excellent fishing grounds. These early season trips are an excellent opportunity to get back on the water at a reasonable price. This time of year it's not uncommon to find good concentrations of Yellowtail at various spots along the northern Baja coast as well as at Colnett. Reds, Ling Cod and other tasty bottom dwellers are also favorites on these trips. Early departure ensures we will be on the highspot at daylight for a shot at Yellows first thing in the morning. With two full days of fishing, San Martin Island is also a possibility on this trip, conditions permitting.

Timing is everything, and on trips of this length time is definitely on your side. These trips will fish deep in Mexican waters targeting Albacore, Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Dorado and Yellowtail. For many years Guadalupe island has been the go-to place to fish for large Yellowfin Tuna. Fish in excess of 100 pounds are not uncommon in the fall as well as record size Yellowtail. Likewise, Cedros Island and the San Benitos islands offer what may be the best Yellowtail fishing on the planet. Limit style fishing with many fish pushing 40 pounds is not uncommon at these destinations.
