Guadalupe Island Great White Shark Diving, 11/12/09

We departed the beautiful Marina Cruiseport in Ensenada today bound again for Guadalupe Island.  Great White Shark diving has been excellent this year and we’re hoping for more of the same on our final voyage.  Traditionally, November has been an excellent time of year to dive at Isla Guadalupe and we’re all excited about the [...]

San Jose Anglers 5 Day, 10/15/10

The increase in wind made for extra tough Guadalupe Island conditions this morning.  We caught two Yellowfin Tuna before calling it quites and starting the journey for home.

9/8 Overnight trip

Tuna fishing continues to be ‘as good as it gets’ with limit style fishing for all. The majority of the fishing is kelp related and most trips are being made with one lucky kelp. To go along with the Tuna are mixed grade Dorado and Yellowtail. What we are experiencing right now is a combination [...]

9/4 West Covina Anglers 1.5 day

The best  fishing seemed to be inside fifty miles and that’s were we started. There is no lack of kelp and some are packing some healthy schools of Tuna. We had very good fishing on school sized Yellowfin, Yellowtail and Dorado throughout the day.  We all hope this continues and from the look of things it [...]

8/12 Rice Bowl 3-day

We departed at noon today and in typical Rice Bowl fashion, had all the pre-departure perks including cocktails served by Rice Bowl waitresses. We’re heading down to the Albacore and Bluefin zone and should be there in time to search around for a school in the dark. Weather is nice and we’re expecting it to [...]

7/31 Rice Bowl 3-day

We departed yesterday with all the usual suspects. We made the run to the outskirts of three day range for some very good Yellowfin Tuna fishing. Kelps, sonar marks it was all there and biting. Mixed bag is the best way to describe the fishing. Yellowfin, Dorado, Albacore and Bluefin were all in the on [...]

Engineering Partners 1.5 Day, 7/16/09

Every year we look forward to welcoming back our group from Engineering Partners and this year was no exception.  With only slow fishing to be had in our local zone we opted to start our day at 80 miles and continue south after that.  It wasn’t long after dawn that we found our first kelp [...]

Dana Wharf Lady Anglers 2 Day, 7/15/09

Today we spent the majority of our time looking for kelps in the direction of home.  We found several large kelps and  managed to catch a few good quality yellows and a few dorado which were also 14-17lbs. The weather was beautiful today as well.

Dana Wharf Lady Anglers 2 Day, 7/14/09

Today we made the run south to where the fleet has been seeing and catching a few Albacore.  As we made our way down we stopped on several kelps which produced some very good grade Yellowtail.  We arrived on scene in the late afternoon and quickly began to string together some stops for albacore.  While these fish [...]

Open 1 Day, 7/13/09

All in all another tough day in the local zone.  While we have seen consistent signs of life as far as Albacore go, making a catch is a different story.  Hopefully these fish turn around soon and get with the program.  We did manage to catch a few good quality Yellowtail on kelps which is [...]
