Today we were blessed with great weather but again, slow fishing. We did find several very large schools of Bluefin but were unable to do much with them. We managed to scratch away on each stop but never got a school to bite well. We’re out for a one day tonight – maybe with a [...]

Our first day was a tough one – we headed back to the same basic area where we had excellent Albacore fishing yesterday but were forced to keep on the move in an attempt to locate the fish. We did more searching than catching today as we covered a fair amount of water in the [...]

We made a short move to the southwest just after daylight and it wasn’t long before we began to stop on giant Albacore. We had a good stop for close to 50 Albacore mid morning and it was game on after that. We had a few periods throughout the day where we were in search [...]

We departed yesterday with an excellent load of bait (despite challenging bait conditions lately) and headed out in search of Albacore for day one. We were greeted by near perfect weather this morning as well as a decent Bluefin plunker shortly after daylight. We drifted with the same school for nearly three hours slowly picking [...]

Quality took precedence over quantity today as we caught some of the biggest Albacore we’ve seen all season. We started our day about 90 miles from San Diego in flat calm weather with an excellent water setup to work with. Our morning was fairly slow paced but after lunch we began to string some stops [...]

Today was definitely a bit slower than the last week. We continued to find kelp after kelp but the majority of them were dry. We had a few short stops on Yellowfin at various parts of the day but not nearly as consistent as we had hoped for. We had a decent kelp for 25 [...]

Today was more of the same with most of our action coming off of a couple kelps mid-morning. We made several drifts for close to 100 mixed Yellowfin and Yellowtail. We had some slow stretches during mid day but managed to scratch another decent day by sundown.

All in all we had pretty good fishing today between kelps and various jig strikes. Although we didn’t see the volume that was around yesterday we still found enough to make for a busy day. The action was split up pretty evenly between Yellowtail and Yellowfin Tuna with some Bluefin and Dorado mixed in. Some [...]

We had decent fishing today on giant spots of breaking Bluefin and Yellowfin. The quality was excellent with several fish pushing 60 pounds. Whales, bait balls and big foamers kept us on the move all day which made for a very active day of fishing. We’re starting here tomorrow hoping for more of the same.

The Albacore area never got going this morning so we worked east in search of Yellowfin Tuna. We found some Common Dolphin that were packed up with Tuna and we were able to stay with them for much of the afternoon picking up almost four around on the Yellowfin out of seven or eight stops. We also [...]
